Penny’s work is very much influenced by her love of Geography – contours, topography and relief feature large. Raising the surface, texture and bold lines using mixed media, machine and hand stitch are a feature of her work.
Penny takes inspiration from her local landscape and the seasonal changes on the flora and fauna surrounding her Breckland home. She loves experimenting and is never happier than combining techniques and materials to create her artworks.
Penny graduated in 2022 after completing the 2-year Advanced Stitch course in Suffolk, having also completed the 2-year Creative Stitch course in 2020. The sillk moth inspired costume below, one of Penny’s felted works, appeared in ‘Fiber Transformed’ the Summer 2022 issue of Fiber Art Now magazine, following its selection in the juried competition.
